FACILITY OVERVIEW

Our facility is home to South Ridge Church, BAC At The Ridge, and The Ridge Academy. We love that our facility is used every day of the week for about 12 hours each day. Our facility is roughly 12,000 SF with an indoor play area for those rainy days. Our facility has security system to keep our kids safe and secure throughout their day.

SECURITY

The security of the campers and staff is important at Summer At The Ridge. We’ll be equipped with computerized check in/check out systems and security devices.

Background Checks

All staff members have been background checked with national, state, and local searches. Our drivers have had their driving records checked. Everyone has been cleared by the background checks.

Check In & Check Out

For administrative and security purposes, all children and families will be registered in our computerized data system. Parents will be given a personalized pin, which is the last four digits of the number listed at registration, for quick and easy check in and check out. Only persons registered in the database will be permitted to check children in and out from camp.

For example: During pickup, Sara comes to pick up her daughter, Camryn, at 3:45 pm. Sara will come through the first doors she comes to in the pickup lane. She will then give her code, which is the last four digits of the phone number 7970. As it checks out, someone from our team will radio for Camryn to be picked up by her mom.

Family Profiles

Maintaining accurate family profiles is necessary for security and to enable immediate contact with parents when necessary. Please be accurate with family information when submitting applications. Please feel free to update your personal profile whenever family data changes and if you need assistance someone is here to help.

HEALTH & SAFETY

A child's health and safety is a big priority at Summer At The Ridge. Our staff is well trained in safety practices, and our lead staff is certified and trained in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and EpiPen procedures. Sun protection and proper hydration are closely monitored daily. Lead staff members are equipped with a two way radio to allow them contact with each other at all times. For quick identification children are required to wear camp t-shirts on all trips away from campus.

Summer At The Ridge is licensed and approved by the state of VA as a religious exempt organization. All Fire and Health Inspections, student/staff ratios, staff health and background screenings meet and exceed all code requirements.

You are entrusting us with your children. We take that responsibility very seriously. We are therefore committed to providing a safe and secure day camp environment for all our campers and staff.

Depending on the number of camper each week, during activities and field trips kids may be separated into two groups: K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade.
